Encode Email Address in WordPress Posts with a Shortcode

Spam

Placing an email address into a page is not a good idea in this day and age - actually for a number of years now - where harvest bots are trolling the Interwebs looking for nice juicy bits of data that can be passed onto those that like to send you SPAM messages.

Fortunately, if you are a WordPress user you can use the code below to add Shortcode functionality to your WordPress Theme so you can use an email address directly in the page.

Windows Vista with a CanoScan N650U Scanner

I have an older scanner, that is actually a very good device.  Unfortunately there are no Windows Vista drivers for this device, so I have been using it on my old Windows XP laptop - which has now become our bedroom Netflix player.

So I set about trying to figure this out.  How can I continue to use my nice scanner on my Windows Vista Laptop?

jQuery goToByScroll()

This was a little JS snippet that was passed to me by a co-worker at Mannix Marketing, Inc. that allows you to build the UI into a scrolling page.

Get the code...

The original code is found here, where you can see a demo of the code.

I have saved the code at Pastebin - pastebin.com/1SbZ3rNP

Simple Tabs w/ CSS & jQuery

Well, since sohtanaka.com has been down for a while, I have lost access to some great resources. No fear, I have managed to get most of them back from archive.org - but what a pain that is; slow, slow, slow...

Anyway, with credit where credit is due - sohtanaka.com - I'm going to post some of those articles here so I have a simple easy way to get to the code I need.  Hopefully this will help you out too!

Let me explain cricket… the easy way!

England U19 v Pakistan U19

There are two sides, one out in the field the other one in.

Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.

When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.

Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.

There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.

When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.
